Benchmark
By tracking and analyzing drug usage from a variety of perspectives, opportunities are identified for cost reduction and efficiency. Benchmark reports can be used to compare specific drug data as it relates to drug cost, drug revenue, drug mix, etc. against comparable practice size or US Oncology average. Benchmark reports allow the practice to view economic results of choices made between drugs within like or similar therapeutic classes. These reports also track drug purchasing relative to contract compliance.

Admixture Training
Admixture Training is a comprehensive Web-based program to measure, assess and improve clinical skills for a safe, compassionate and caring environment for patients. The program facilitates training and validates the knowledge and skills required for intravenous admixture in an oncology practice setting.

Chemotherapy Stability Guidelines
A compilation of drug information from scientific literature on the pharmaceutics of parenteral medications used in the clinical setting provides the foundation for the Chemotherapy Stability Guidelines. Utilizing a peer-review format, the stability chart was developed from more than 100 references. The guidelines serve as a comprehensive, up-to-date and authoritative reference that is especially useful for pharmacists. Oncology Pharmaceutical Services also offers a variety of educational opportunities focused on clinical and financial aspects of oncology care and US Oncology network initiatives.

Therapeutic Interchange
This program is a physician-directed evidence review of the alternatives in a given therapeutic or pharmacologic drug class. The purpose is to critically evaluate competitive alternatives, seeking opportunities to improve or maintain quality of care while holding drug costs in check.

Waste Tracking
An effective waste reduction program should be an integral part of any oncology practice. It represents a considerable opportunity to improve profitability, identify reasons for waste, track costs and implement more efficient procedures.

Admixture Assessment
On-site Admixture Assessment examines existing operational processes, verifies admixture volume, evaluates the physical space in terms of constraints and opportunities and assesses equipment needs. Team members may include pharmacists, nurses and/or information technology specialists.

Regimen Insight
Chemotherapeutics is often described as "both an art and a science," offering several accepted treatment options for a given disease and stage. The Oncology Pharmaceutical Services Regimen Insight Program is a Web-based application that allows oncologists to compare alternative therapeutic regimens in terms of patient tolerance and convenience, payer/patient costs and economics to a practice.

In an increasingly complex health-care system, practicing medicine is still a physician's first priority. Oncology Pharmaceutical Services can help provide the focus on that valuable endeavor.
