Local Support

Through our focus on oncology and community practices we have built one of the nation's largest integrated cancer research networks.

More than 80 percent of all cancer care is now provided at the community level. This significant demand for community-based cancer-care services continues to grow and to meet these evolving needs; new models for the delivery of cancer care are also emerging.

US Oncology is partnering with oncology practices, clinics, hospitals and health systems across the United States to continuously enhance the delivery of state-of-the-art cancer care.

Bringing oncology trials to local communities

We are living in an exciting time in medicine and cancer care. Due to many advances in medical and biotechnology sciences, as well as recent breakthroughs in understanding the human genetic code, there are more novel anti-cancer drugs in development today than ever before.

The role of the community oncologist is critical in testing and bringing these advances to patients rapidly. However, most community practices today do not have the scale or resources to build an active research program within their busy practices.

US Oncology Research division was created exclusively to serve the needs of oncology practices and to bring exciting new clinical trials and novel therapies to patients of affiliated practices. Through its sole focus on oncology community practices, US Oncology has built one of the nation's largest integrated cancer research networks. Its primary mission is to accelerate the development and availability of new investigational therapies to community oncologists and their patients.

One of the main goals of
US Oncology is to nurture a tightly-knit scientific clinical community that operates on a common integrated research platform and as a result, a national infrastructure has evolved to accelerate the delivery of investigational therapies to patients in their local communities.

Today, this division supports a network of research locations. The goal of US Oncology Research is to nurture a tightly knit scientific clinical community that operates on a common integrated research platform. To that end, a single Institutional Review Board, a national scientific review process led by affiliated physicians, and a state-of-the-art information infrastructure, has been created to serve cancer patients worldwide. An experienced staff of research personnel supports these efforts.
