The US Oncology Network The US Oncology Network is one of the largest cancer- treatment networks in the U.S. The Network works on both a local and national scale to bring the highest- quality, evidence-based care to more than 850,000 patients in their own neighborhoods. Leveraging healthcare information technology, shared best practices, refined evidence-based medicine guidelines, and quality measurements, physicians affiliated with The US Oncology Network are committed to advancing the quality, safety, and science of cancer care to improve patient outcomes.

Members of The US Oncology Network work together to ensure patients continue to have access to high-quality, advanced cancer care in their own communities. The Network accomplishes this through a data-driven approach that encourages public and private payers to recognize and reward physicians providing high-quality, proven care.

Physician Governance The US Oncology Network is physician-centered. Every physician in The US Oncology Network has a say in the vision and focus of the organization. This includes representation on clinical and public policy committees where members play a key role in developing initiatives and setting policy for The Network.

The National Policy Board (NPB) is a physician advisory group that addresses strategic and operational issues within The US Oncology Network. The board is governed by select physicians from within The Network. The NPB meets monthly by phone to discuss relevant issues impacting cancer care. Physician Collaboration Physicians in The US Oncology Network regularly collaborate with their colleagues across America to make clinical and treatment decisions and to address other issues affecting the patient experience.

Opportunities for collaboration include: Network Meetings These meetings allow physicians to collaborate face-to-face on areas of interest vital to the operation, direction and clinical excellence of The US Oncology Network. Blood and Marrow Transplantation Committee Provides advice and direction on management, selection and direction of research related to the Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT) program. Clinical Research Committee Advises on scientific direction and operational initiatives to support our community-focused cancer-research program. Clinical Leadership Committee Develops tools and resources that improve quality of care and service to patients and their families. iKnowMedTM Product Development Committee Reports on product performance and advises on continuous improvement process for iKnowMed, an electronic health record (EHR) built for and by oncologists to serve the unique needs of cancer care. Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee Provides physician-directed reviews of drugs and biological treatments, and a forum for exchanging ideas. Creates and updates clinical pathways to promote consistent evidence-based treatment decisions. Public Policy Steering Committee Identifies significant state and national policy priorities and works for positive resolution. Radiation Oncology Committee Advises on policies, procedures, technologies and initiatives that ensure patient access to safe and effective state-of-the-art technologies in their communities. Includes two subcommittees: • Cancer Center Services • Imaging and Diagnostic Services The Oncology Portal The Oncology Portal is our Web-based community that allows all physicians in The US Oncology Network to collaborate in real time. Participating physicians can employ the collective knowledge of The Network to address challenging patient cases, discuss new treatments and receive expert insight from thought-leaders in oncology sub-specialties. The Oncology Portal also serves as a resource for physicians in The Network to learn about the latest developments in oncology.
