Realigning Reimbursement

Physicians in The US Oncology Network are dedicated to preserving community cancer care. We realign the reimbursement policies of both private and public payers to recognize and reward high-quality, evidence-based cancer care. The Network believes that the application — and detailed measurement — of evidence-based medicine is the first step in creating a reimbursement system that ensures patients receive appropriate, scientifically proven care while addressing escalating healthcare costs.
Together, we can reshape reimbursement policy to preserve and expand patient access to high-quality care.
Better Value through Level I Pathways
Over the past several years, many physicians in The US Oncology Network have used Level I Pathways to show payers the value of evidence-based medicine. These efforts are the first steps toward changing reimbursement policies to recognize and reward high-quality, evidence-based care.
Healthcare Technology and Evidence-Based Medicine
The ability to measure and report on patient outcomes is a key step in our efforts to realign reimbursement. When combined with Level I Pathways, we can show real healthcare improvements. Physicians in The US Oncology Network use our comprehensive healthcare technology assets for:

• Point-of-care decision support
• Clinical trial matching
• Benchmarking of pathways compliance and variation
• Measurement of a broad range of quality measures
