Expanding Your Practice

US Oncology makes it possible for CSA-affiliated practices to grow by helping them purchase equipment, recruiting new physicians, adopting new technologies, developing marketing programs, providing construction support and communicating more effectively with their communities.

Each year, we invest substantial capital in our CSA practices to help them expand and flourish. Many of our practices have added radiation therapy and diagnostic imaging technology, diversifying their service offerings and improving access to top-quality care for their patients. In addition, we help local practices join together to gain efficiencies.

Cancer Center Services
For practices who want to make a significant contribution to their communities, US Oncology can help build a state-of-the-art, integrated cancer center. These centers combine all aspects of care under one roof, including medical and radiation oncology, imaging and diagnostic services, pharmacy services, research, and patient support services. Our turnkey development services include site selection, property acquisition, design, construction, equipment procurement, certificate of need approval (where applicable) and operational support. US Oncology has built more than 90 cancer centers nationwide.

Centers of Excellence
Centers of Excellence provide collaborative, comprehensive care that is focused on the needs of the patient. Treating physicians work together to review the patient’s case and make decisions as a team about the best course of treatment. Each Center of Excellence is focused on a disease state, such as breast cancer. All the care and resources the patient requires are in one place and coordinated by a “patient navigator.” Practices that become Centers of Excellence not only provide state-of-the-art patient care, they rapidly become the preeminent cancer center for their communities.

Research
As more cancer treatment is provided in an outpatient setting, the community oncologist is even more critical in bringing new drugs and therapies to market. Through US Oncology Research, community oncologists can join a world-class research network with an academic feel and offer their patients the most advanced treatments.

US Oncology Research is one of the largest research networks in the nation specializing in Phase I-IV oncology clinical trials.  The network has contributed to the development of 80 percent of the cancer drugs approved by the FDA.

Physicians participating in research benefit from centralized research support and reduced administrative burden. They can serve on physician-led, disease-specific committees, contribute to national and international meetings, and collaborate with key thought leaders and investigators.
