Radiotherapy Clinics of Georgia began with one location in Conyers, Georgia, a quiet suburb of Atlanta. Over the years, we’ve branched out with offices throughout the metro Atlanta area. As we’ve expanded, our reputation has grown as well. Radiotherapy Clinics of Georgia has become one of the country’s top cancer treatment and research facilities, especially in the area of prostate cancer.

We have treated more than 16,000 men for prostate cancer with ProstRcision. We have compiled our observations of these men, both before and after treatment, into one of the largest computerized databases on prostate cancer in the U.S. In addition, our doctors have written more than 80 peer-reviewed research papers on prostate cancer that have been published or presented at major medical meetings. Each year, thousands of patients from across the United States and around the globe come to us seeking a cure for their cancer.


James Benton, MD

James Benton, MD is board certified as a Radiation Oncologist by the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Benton believes in providing quality, personalized cancer care in a community setting, and demonstrates that commitment daily in his patient care activities. 

A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Armstrong State University in Savannah, Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Math. Dr. Benton attended Morehouse School of Medicine, where he completed his medical degree and graduated first in his class. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia, and a second residency in Radiation Oncology at Emory University.

Dr. Benton’s love of math, physics and science led him to radiation oncology, a specialty he admires for the depth of its technical detail and the breadth of its clinical application. Prior to joining the staff at Radiotherapy Clinics of Georgia in 1998, Dr. Benton served as Chief Resident and Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at Emory University. Dr. Benton is a life-time member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. This distinction is given out to only 5-10% of medical school graduates throughout the United States.

Dr. Benton practiced as a board certified Internist for a few years before becoming a board certified Radiation Oncologist more than 15 years ago. Currently, he is President of Radiotherapy Clinics of Georgia (RCOG), and he practices at RCOG’s main campus in Decatur, specializing in treating a variety of cancers such as breast, prostate and many other sites. Along with other experts in the field of prostate cancer treatment, Dr. Benton has authored numerous medical research manuscripts and his work has been published in numerous peer review journals.

Ratna Sajja, MD

Ratna Sajja, MD is board certified as a Radiation Oncologist by the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Sajja has strong professional experience in treating a wide variety of adult tumors with the latest techniques in radiation oncology today. Dr. Sajja believes in providing quality, personalized cancer care in a community setting, and demonstrates that commitment daily in her patient care activities. 

Dr. Sajja received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She then completed her residency training at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where Dr. Sajja trained with many of the current leaders in the field of radiation oncology, participated in several clinical research projects, and served as Chief Resident.  She received her board certification in Radiation Oncology in 2006. Dr. Sajja also achieved honors and distinctions throughout her prior education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Along with several publications, Dr. Ratna Sajja is credited with a number of notable poster presentations concentrating on IMRT and Gamma-Knife radiosurgery for intracranial meningiomas for well-respected organizations and conferences, such as the Society of Neuro-Oncology and American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.

After completing her residency training, Dr. Sajja relocated to the north Dallas, Texas area. She has been a respected radiation oncologist in private practice within that community since 2006, and is well-acquainted with the newest technologies in the field, particularly image-guided radiotherapy for prostate cancer and brachytherapy for partial breast irradiation (Mammosite, Savi). Dr. Sajja is excited to bring her wealth of knowledge to Rockdale County and looks forward to also providing stereotactic body radiotherapy for unresectable tumors. With members of her own family who have battled cancer, Dr. Sajja is attuned to the emotional needs of the patient. She strives to involve her patients in all the decision-making aspects of treatment and provides care in a thoughtful and compassionate environment.
