Patient Care, Practice Health and Physician Satisfaction

The world of healthcare seems to be constantly in flux. Growing competition, regulatory and payer demands and increased complexity make it difficult to remain independent and thrive.

Through The US Oncology Network ("The Network"), physicians have access to resources, best business practices, and the experience, infrastructure and support of McKesson, a trusted name in healthcare for over 180 years.

Our physicians have a voice, with opportunities to participate in dozens of committees that lead and guide The Network. They also play a vital role in shaping the future of cancer treatment by taking part in cutting-edge clinical trials that are leading the way in the fight against cancer.

Enabling Practice Success

Every day, The Network helps more than 1,400 independent physicians deliver value-based, integrated cancer care to patients―close to home. We enable value-based cancer care through an integrated and supportive network that helps comprehensive cancer centers maintain their independence and prosper in today’s evolving healthcare landscape.

Relationship Opportunities

We offer two models through which a practice can become part of The US Oncology Network to gain the many benefits our organization provides. Practices can choose the affiliation model that best meets their needs and goals.

Comprehensive Strategic Alliance (CSA)

In the comprehensive strategic alliance model, practices work with The Network to enable the success of the entire practice. Physicians maintain their independence, but get the support of a management company that has deep expertise in oncology practice management.

Joint Venture (JV)

In the joint venture model, practices and The Network focus on the management of a radiation oncology center. Practices and McKesson Specialty Health each own a share of a radiation oncology asset and participate in the financial performance of that asset.

The Network has access to great tools, resources and support necessary to succeed under value-based contracts. The collaboration with a national spectrum of practices has been very important and will be even more so in the future.
